The Mission
Learning Outside of the Box supports the basic health, education, and self-confidence children need and deserve for a productive life. To that end, its gifting program, The Magi Project, seeks out and nurtures youngsters who sustain serious or terminal illness, or live in poverty.
Who We Are
Since 2011
Learning Outside Of The Box began in 2011 and improves the lives of children through connections with healthcare professionals and educators. Regardless of social or economic standing, children and their families matter. Learning offers the opportunity for a stable and productive life. More importantly, we believe that books change lives. Placed in the hands of a child, a backpack and a book send a message of support and encouragement for youngsters.
Donations
Donation requests come from childcare professionals in hospitals, summer camp programs, reading programs, and foundations for child abuse and neglect. They give shelter, educate, and care for children in need every day.
The Magi Project
While direct funding is not provided, children are the recipients of needed blankets, quilts, towels, books, backpacks, and other supplies basic to daily living and learning. The sponsoring organizations offer written requests for specific items. The Magi Project then seeks donors for those items and delivers the requested items directly to the sponsoring nonprofit. Sponsors receive a letter of thanks and acknowledgment for end-of-year tax purposes.
These children want to learn. More importantly, they need to read.
That’s why we created the Magi Project.
Who We Serve
Our motto is simple: Every Child, Every Day.
We believe that children who read, succeed. Every shared book fosters the opportunity for greater literacy, and greater independence among our young people. We celebrate the intelligence of all children. We honor their curiosity and their right to learn, so that they gain confidence through knowledge.
“Children aren’t a class. They are merely human beings at different stages of maturity. All of them have a human intelligence which even at its lowest is a pretty wonderful thing, and the entire world is in front of them. It remains to be seen if they rise above that.”

The written word takes our imagination past the boundaries of merely being. It allows us to form our dreams as a child and to work on them as an adult.
It is with all this in mind we invite you to support The Magi Project.
Children are waiting.
For as little as $25.00 per month, your support reaches countless children in our community.
Our link to health providers and educators reaches children whose needs are frequently overlooked.
